Dear conveners,
as mentioned in ap-, it- and ops- calls, we plan to prepare the case for a
further extension of HESS into 2025. This case is not meant to be an
enormous amount of work to generate a heavy document. It is rather an
opportunity for all members of the collaboration to propose changes to our
strategy for running HESS, such as, e.g., new science approaches, new
procedures and ways of calibrating data to get better results. We aim for
making improvements based on our experience and shape the observing
program such that we will cover the most attractive science questions.
I would like to encourage you once more to entertain discussions in
forthcoming meetings of your working groups.
We would like to arrange a <1h meeting among all conveners in the next week
to discuss any suggestions that you might want to put forward and how to
best collect further input.
As a second topic we want to discuss the options for a collaboration
meeting in the next few months.
Please indicate your availability on this poll:
https://terminplaner4.dfn.de/f4B26Z9tXJW7hkW5
In a separate mail I request input from the HESS group leaders concerning a
collaboration meeting in the next few months.
Best regards,
Stefan,
for the hess-ec
Dear All,
this (see below) is for your information. Apologies to those who
received this announcement already through other channels.
All the best,
Anita

Betreff: [cta-members] MAGIC call for proposals during 2021 is open -
Deadline October 23 2020
Datum: Thu, 10 Sep 2020 14:22:33 +0200
Von: Oscar Blanch <blanch(a)ifae.es>
An: cta-members(a)cta-observatory.org <cta-members(a)cta-observatory.org>
Dear Colleagues,
You may have already learned through other means, still let me share it
here.
The call for proposals in MAGIC is open. Although MAGIC is not an open
observatory, the MAGIC collaboration encourages individual external
scientists to propose observations to be performed with the MAGIC
telescopes. Observation time will be granted by the Time Allocation
Committee based on scientific merit.
The observation cycle 16 spans from 2021 January 25th to 2022 January
23rd. *The deadline to submit the MAGIC proposals is October 23rd at
23:00 CET*. In any case, we encourage external scientists to contact the
MAGIC physics coordinator (antonio.stamerra(a)inaf.it
<mailto:antonio.stamerra@inaf.it>), preferably before October 2nd.
The analysis of the data requires specific expertise and tools. Some
members from the MAGIC team will be supporting the external projects
throughout the entire procedure of proposal submission, and (if the
observation time is granted) data reduction and publication.
Additional details, instructions, documentation, and the tools required
to prepare and submit proposals are available via:
https://magic.mpp.mpg.de/outsiders/magicop/
Best regards,
Oscar Blanch for the MAGIC Collaboration
