Dear all,
I copied the general astrophysics program assembled by Anita
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/display/HESS/Astrophysics+Sessio…
to the general collaboration meeting page:
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=H…
Pls let me know if there are any major issues (e.g. you not being
available for your session).
In case you intend to edit anything, pls. edit straight in that
collaboration meeting page.
Please check:
I added session chairs
We do have a little time left for overflow in case your sessions are
tight. This is sometimes easy to adjust, as not all sessions use all the
time available. In other cases the additional time would be on another
day.
So far there are no walkthrough talks (pls. let Anita and me know in case
you still want to have any of those; we are still missing quite a few
cases of papers that were 'publication ready' when the results were given
at the ICRC. Let me know asap if more time is necessary:
Tentative plans:
PS OPh on Monday morning,
Legacy on November 11.
In case we do not need the time on Friday, November (5 PM), we will finish
early (but allow discussion sessions)
Best regards,
Stefan
Dear All,
a first draft AP-program for the upcoming HESS collaboration meeting
is online at:
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/display/HESS/Astrophysics+Sessio…
Please feel free to modify within the given framework as you feel
appropriate. In particular, please feel also free to modify the
talk/discussion duration of the individual presentations from your WG
within the given session slot as you feel appropriate.
As mentioned earlier I won't be online until next Monday (1 Nov); any
required changes to the AP program of the collab. meeting may be carried
out by you, or last minute changes carried out during the first week of
the collaboration meeting.
Best wishes,
Anita
Dear Stefan,
during today's AP-call a discussion about the best form to provide
all necessary information that would allow an educated evaluation of the
legacy proposals and science topics as a whole resulted in the following:
Each AWG convener will prepare a general proposal containing the larger
view and all rankings (sources, science topics) of the bullet-point
science topics (as listed on the Legacy Program confluence page). Such
general proposal has been already uploaded by the SNR/PWNe-WG and
Stellar-WG. The deadline for providing such general proposal is
naturally constrained by the time line of the proposal selection
procedure (see below). For many of the individual science topics also
dedicated proposals providing more details have been uploaded. In case
details are still missing on any of the listed topics and which would be
required for an educated evaluation/proposal screening, this missing
information shall be provided by the AWG-conveners (via their WG) during
the selection process. We hope this forms a good basis for the next
steps that shall bring the legacy program to life.
The next steps are now the legacy proposal selection procedure and its
time line. Re-calling from our discussion during the Sep AP-meeting,
joint AP-EC and joint EC-OC meetings to exchange views are foreseen
here. Could you please provide
- dates and time line for these meetings (taking into account that
preparation time is needed for the meeting participants),
- a more exact procedure that is envisioned.
This would help not only to set the deadline for the general proposals
(see above) but also to clarify many of the questions that are still in
the air on this subject.
Kind regards,
Anita
(for the AWG-conveners)
Dear Colleagues,
We have a proposal for the M87-related tasks at the Collaboration Meeting and it would be nice to hear if you are in agreement, or if you have any suggestions.
The plan would be two-fold. First, we wish to invite any persons working on M87-related tasks in all AP WGs to make a presentation as part of the morning session on Tuesday 9 November. This session in the draft schedule is nominally for the Jets WG, but most of the M87-related activities tasks are already in Jets, so we would hope this would not cause any inconvenience. The talks need only be a very brief description of the scope of the activities, 5 mins.
Then, after the formal talks session we would have a dedicated breakout/gather session where we identify any recent developments where new tasks might be defined, or where possible combining of existing activities into the same task could be arranged.
Please may we ask, therefore, if
1. Are you happy for this session to be arranged in this format?
2. Are there any tasks in your own WG which should be included in the arrangements, and for these, and whom should we contact?
We are also writing to the relevant task leaders in Jets WG and some others whom we already know to be working on M87-related activities, so apologies to those of you who get two similar messages, but this will ensure complete coverage.
Thanks very much,
All the best,
Garret & Michael

Dear all,
following up on our telecon last month I iterated an executive statement
on the proposal for a further extension of HESS.
Please take a look and comment. Any further ideas, concerns, improvements?
While the draft will be operated until submission, I'd appreciate feedback
by Feb 23 next week.
Best regards,
Stefan
