Dear Garret,
many thanks for the updates! Indeed, that answers several questions/AI
that came up during today's vibe meeting (see brief minutes on
confluence:
A few questions to you:
- How long will be Dorit's talk on M87?
- How long will the Jets-monitoring talk be?
- Who will cover the Jets-flare program? What did we learn from AGN
flares over the last 1/2yr? How long will the Jets-flare talk be?
Talk requests from your group: As discussed during the F2F we envision
kind of grouped talks (where possible) for the topics that we collected
during the F2F. Do you think there is the possibility to cover the
requested talks from your group in either Jets-monitoring or Jets-flare
talk? If not, which talks do not fall into either category/would you
like to be scheduled separately?
And yes, I am still planning to give that session 1-talk (if really
nobody else wants). It would be good to have 3-4 slides on your group by
Thursday at the very latest. You may have a look at Emma's slides for
this purpose.
All the best,
Anita

Dear Anitia, All,
I hope you had a very useful call. Please accept my apologies,
unfortunately we have a lengthy departmental management meeting, I would
much prefer to be planning science discussions inatead!
I have a couple of updates.
i)Dorit is not attending but she will be able to give the M87 talk remotely
ii)Michael Zacahrias is confirmed for a jets / monitoring talk
iii)Laura is confirmed for SS433
As possibly expected once the schedule starts to appear on the
Confluence, I have had a couple of requests for talks. Did you have any
discussions about this possibility? I would rather check round with the
convenors in case a policy has developed, rather than saying “yes” or
“no” straight away. Do we have any spare time, anyway?
Lastly, please again excuse me for being a bit over-stretched and not
100% up to date; Anita are you still planning to have a couple of slides
representing each Astrophysics WG, and when are these needed?
All the best
Garret

Dear All,
thanks for voting! Looks like most of us prefer Monday 11am. So
let's meet on Monday (9 March), 11am, via vibe to clarify upon the
structure we want for the AP program at the collaboration meeting
and answer (hopefully) all related open questions.

Dear All,
you may recall that at the F2F-meeting last week we
discussed that *session 1* of the AP program at the
collaboration meeting shall provide an overview of what we think
is do-able & important for HESS to push. Emma's sketch (below)
nicely captures this idea I think. Each AWG has science
priorities that are planned for the next upcoming years of HESS
operations, which should be transported in this talk in a
convincing way using sensible arguments. In order to not having
a several hours long talk I suggest that each group restricts
itself to the highest priority/hottest topic the respective
group is aiming for. My rough outline/sketch of such talk is
attached. I would estimate ~3 (-4??) slides per [AWG] that touch
upon the questions indicated in the outline. As said at the F2F
I am available to present this talk (provided help by you wrt
slides etc) if you all wish so.
Please feel free to comment (incl. outline) by next Monday at
the latest, please.
It would be good to receive all slides by ~Thursday next week at
the very latest, so that any further changes can be done without
too much pressure.
Concerning the *preparations for the AP program* at the
collaboration meeting I got the impression that more
communication and information exchange is needed. I therefore
would like to offer to have a quick vibe meeting tomorrow
(Friday 5 March) afternoon, or Monday at the latest, where we
should clarify upon the structure we want for this AP program
and answer all open questions. (The current build-up of this
meeting at
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=103…
looks partly at bit confusing to me at the moment wrt what we
agreed upon at the F2F.) If you're interested in such quick
(<30min) vibe-meeting please indicate your availability at:
https://framadate.uibk.ac.at/studs.php?sondage=zu3y7s8gtqqh68gp
by tomorrow lunch time at the latest.
All the best,
Anita
