Dear Emma, all,
I cc Stefan Ohm, as he manages breakout rooms
(Stefan - pls correct if anything I say is wrong).
You do not need to request breakout rooms discussing any of the
contributions.
There will be a breakout room for each talk in the program without a need
for you to request this.
We ask everyone to register a breakout room for any discussion that is NOT
specifically related to a talk. E.g. Sabrina registered one already on
Hadronic Background for extended source analysis
We would ask the conveners to give a short summary of your group's view
on what should be carried out in a Legacy program over the next ~3 years
in case a further extension for HESS will be granted.
Some groups already discussed this in WG meetings and/or provided the
input for the extension document and its confluence annex and there may be
no need for any further iteration.
However all groups are very welcome to arrange for a breakout session prior
to the session on the 29th, when your short summaries are scheduled.
Best regards,
Stefan
Dear all,
I was drafting the email below to the stars wg, but since it overlaps with
the interesting of many of you I rather send it here first. Garret, Fabian
, Jacco, Sabrina, could you comment on this? specially to Jacco and
Sabrina, how many breakout rooms are you planning to have, and how much
would overlap with the ones I am proposing below? we should have some of
them in parallel, but it would be good to avoid conflict of interest for
important topics
Thanks!
Emma

Note that the times for talks is quite reduced, similar to the last CM.
You can again upload a longer version in Confluence and just discuss a the
most relevant points during the live session. Also keep in mind that we
can ‘book’ breakout rooms to discuss further. From our wg (+projects with
other wg), I think it will be good to have at least those ones:
* BR1 - Vela Pulsar (Science paper and new observations) - Chair: EdOW /
Arache
* BR2 - Westerlund 2 - Discussion on the Interpretation: Detection of a
new component coincident with a ‘jet-like’ cloud - Chair: Tim
* BR3 - J1908 Discussion on the interpretation and ICRC contribution -
Chair: Dima K.
* BR4 - Binary observations with HESS: Can HESS provide relevant new
information before CTA? - Chair: Dmitry M. / Gerd
* BR5 - 47 Tuc - analysis and results : Chair: Jimmy / Nukri
* BR6 - W43 - A bright stellar cluster coincident with an extended hess
source - Chair: Naomi
* BR7 - Westerlund 1 - Discussion on the interpretation + SNRPP WG -
Chair: Lars
* BR8 - PeVatrons - Discussion on the Morphology and gammapy Analysis +
SNRPP WG - Chair: Davit
* BR9 - Nova - Relevance of the current ULs and handling of new cases +
Transients (Fabian?) - Chair: Alison
* BR10 - SS 433 - Discussion on the results + Jets (Garret? ) - Chair:
Laura
I added a tentative chair, please let me (us) know if that’s okay with
you, and also if you having such discussion is a good idea.
By default, we could add the discussion after the session where the
relevant talk is scheduled, although there might be some overlapping. We
can try to organise them to optimise the attendance. The slots are the
following (and I added tentatively the BRs):
21.04: 15:30 - 16:00 (BR9)
26.04 : 15:30 - 16:00 (BR10)
28.04 : 12:00 - 12:30 / 12:30 - 13:00 / 13:40 - 14:00 / 15:30-16:00 (BR2
/ BR3 / BR7* / BR1)
29.04: 12:00 - 12:30 / 12:30 - 13:00 / 13:40 - 14:00 / 15:30-16:00 (BR8
/ BR6 / BR4 / BR5)
*BR7 is being ‘doodled’ right now.

Dear All,
a draft for the AP-program for the upcoming HESS collaboration
meeting is available at:
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/display/HESS/Astrophysics+Sessio…
Please, check out whether you're happy with it (scheduling, etc) & let
me know by Monday 4pm if you see any problems. Please also feel free to
adjust the talk/discussion duration of the talks of your WG (I may have
over/under-estimated some) as long as all remains within the respective
session time.
Also please don't forget to ask for break-out rooms (see table on
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/display/HESS/2021+April+virtual+…
) for your HESS Science discussion rounds. A good way to focus these
discussions would be to come up in the end with an ordered priority list
of the science your WG is envisioning to pursue with HESS over the next
years (i.e., if extension is granted). The results of these discussions
is foreseen to be presented by each convener in the Thursday (29 April)
afternoon session.
All the best,
Anita
