[Hess-ap] Agenda: Mail to the WGs

Dear all, I was drafting an email to the Stellar WG, but I realised that we need a lot of coordination between different groups, if we want to have the talks we proposed in the Agenda. I wonder then if it is better to write a common email that we can all draft together, to organise the contributions? I came out with the following email. Please feel free to modify and critisize, it is just a first draft and I didn’t even read it twice… Cheers e Dear colleagues, we had an efficient AP F2F meeting in Heidelberg beginning of this week, where we discussed several issues, including the new publication policy and structure for the collaboration meeting. Regarding the first point, publication policy, the previous procedure has been modified to try to make the process of paper publishing more efficient. The new structure can be found here: (LINK TO CONFLUENCE) The basic steps are the following: New Idea -> Present it on the WG (and approved) -> Work/DATA & presentation of (semi)final results -> Draft and circulation among WG -> Paper Review by internal referees -> Collaboration Review -> Paper submission We also had a long discussion on how to make an efficient and engaging AP program during the collaboration meeting. We would like to somehow change a bit the previous structure with many contributions for (sometimes not very incremental) status report. Rather than that, we propose to ask the different Task/Project groups to collectively prepare a general talk and choose a speaker that would give a scientific context and a summary of the results. We understand it is also important to have detailed discussions on particular aspects of the analysis or project, therefore we also propose to use some of the Free Time/Special Sessions slots to get together and discuss some of these particular projects. As preliminary agenda, we would like to have the following contributions. You can find for each WG, some of the topics that could be included, if you would like to share the status of the project on the Col. Mtg.. We encourage you too to include also the MWL needs in each of the presentations. 1/ Session on Galactic Center / CR diffusion We envision 3 contributions including: o Astrophysics o Dark Matter o Diffuse Astrophysics - Topics under the Diffuse WG: ….. - Topics under the Stellar WG: Variability of the GC We would like to encourage people working on the Astrophysics aspects of the GC region to organise such talk.
