Dear All,
thanks for voting. It looks like there is a tendency to have our
*next AP-call on 9th April *(instead Good Friday).
One of us has a problem with the time slot. Therefore I'd like to ask
everybody whether it is possible for you to shift the 9th April meeting
by 30min, so starting at 11:30am?
Spring Collaboration Meeting (CM):
I would further like to remind you about the deadline for talk requests
for our upcoming CM,
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/display/HESS/Astrophysics+Sessio…
the /*deadline (8 April)* /being *before* the next AP-call.
This means in particular, that by our next AP-call you/it should be
clear which topics (& to which extend) from your WG are going to be
presented at the CM.
To facilitate the planning of the CM's AP-program it would be good to
get feedback from you already by the end of this week (2nd April) on:
_/1) AP-program block within the CM/_ preferably
- rather beginning of CM (sessions somewhere 19.-23.4.)?
- rather end of CM (sessions somewhere 26.-30.4. excluding 27.4.)?
Pls vote.
_/2) Session times:/_
10:30-12:00 and 14:00-15:30 ok?
Any needs to change here?
_/3) Requested hours:/_
Roughly,
- how many ordinary talk requests (same modus as at the autumn CM)
are you expecting from your WG?
- How many WT-requests?
(This is only to get an idea whether the time distribution among the
departments need to be changed significantly, or can roughly stay as
were in the past.)
ICRC contributions and WTs/status updates at CM: There will be a
separate email / forward from Stefan on this subject (separate email).
All the best,
and stay healthy!

Dear All,
I just realized that the first Friday of the next month (April)
where we usually have our AP-calls is a Holiday (Good Friday; 2 April)
for some of you. Therefore I'd like to give you the opportunity to shift
our meeting by one week - if wanted. I created a poll to decide this;
pls choose - by filling in the poll - by coming Monday (29 March) at the
latest:
https://framadate.uibk.ac.at/studs.php?sondage=rrvw3subr5f6ub15
The main topic at the moment of our next AP-call will be the upcoming
collaboration meeting, but of course there is room for other topics (pls
add to the agenda!).
All the best,
Anita
Dear All,
I would like to invite you for our next HESS-AP meeting coming Friday
*5 March, 11:00am (CET)*,
on zoom (connection details are given below).
The agenda can be found at:
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/display/HESS/Zoom+meeting+2021-0…
Among the points that I propose to discuss is a draft of a new MoU
between the EHT collaboration and MWL partners (in our case HESS). The
old and new draft MoU is attached. At the moment this concerns primarily
the Jets-WG (-> M87) and the Stellar Sources WG (-> SgrA*), but of
course input from anyone is highly appreciated. Gavin kindly agreed to
provide feedback from the MWLB.
Please do not hesitate to add any further items that you wish to discuss
to the agenda.
All the best,
Anita

Dear All,
as discussed at today's AP-call I added to each proposed ICRC-abstract
in the table on
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/display/HESS/ICRC+2021
the convener of the corresponding WG as abstract and proceedings
reviewer. Please screen the corresponding abstracts, and approve (you
could just add an "approved"-stamp below the abstract) if you find the
contribution to fulfill the criteria as we have discussed. All
contributions proposed for ICRC2021, but already presented at ICRC 2019
to my knowledge, are earmarked with red in the "ICRC2019?" column, and
need corresponding "attention" as we have discussed today.
I also added a deadline for placing abstracts proposed for presentation
at the ICRC2021 to our internal ICRC2021 confluence page: 9 Feb (next
Tuesday). Hope it's not too restrictive (please let me know in this
case) and at the same time gives you sufficient time for screening and
getting back to the presenters if needed.
I'll place minutes of today's meeting on confluence as soon as possible.
All the best,
Anita
Dear AP conveners, dear OC colleagues,
as we have agreed, we will have an exchange of information between AP
conveners and OC members after proposal submission and before evaluation
by the OC. Besides E-Mails (or a secured confluence page), a common
telecon between the two groups will be organized.
To optimize attendance, Anita and I would like to freeze the date for
the telecon (that can only happen in the week of January 11-15, 2021)
already in the next days. A doodle for the possible dates is here:
https://doodle.com/poll/st5cvyuigqdu3yf7
It would be great if you (AP conveners and OC members) could fill this
in latest by beginnning of next week, i.e. until Monday, October 26,
12am (noon).
Best, Gerd

Hi all,
during our call last week Anita mentioned that we would receive questions about points in the proposals that the OC may consider unclear. This would allow us to prepare the meeting with the OC tomorrow.
Quick check; did anyone of you receive such questions? I did not, but maybe the ToO proposals are just perfectly clear ;-)
Cheers,
Fabian

Dear all,
as we had not been complete in yesterday's call the following is via mail.
It affects all working groups in all departments but implementation differs.
We have completed the first year in office and are all very busy with
dozens of meetings and lots of work.
Nonetheless we should step back and check whether we are still on course
or left anything idle.
After the first year of the extension, I added requests to the old working
group pages (e.g. the former Galactic Working group and Extragalactic
Working Group pages), referring to the new groups and went through the
projects that had been started in the old groups and are still kept on
their pages.
Some have been have been closed, others continue well, few have migrated
into the new groups but some appear dormant.
I would like to ask you to check the status of the projects started more
than a year ago. Early next year we should check which old projects have
stalled and decide about their fate.
Following our Astrophysics October meeting, we listed and linked
"Status reports of working groups of the astrophysics department:"
on the collaboration meeting place:
https://hess-confluence.desy.de/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=H…
(you may obviously also link them on your working group pages),
but are still missing a few. In case you plan to have a summary for your
group that is not yet uploaded, please add to the collection.
I would like to reiterate the request for suggestions for the Source of
the Month. Please send suggestions to me (we need two per astrophysics
working group per year on average) and/or call for proposals within your
working groups.
Best regards,
Stefan
